Hi, my name is Carol Thompson-Finn. I am the founder of MyLegalEdge , an online legal forms website which offers state specific legal forms for all 50 states. I am currently in the process of building and expanding my online company, but I need your help to continue creating a legal technology space that will be beneficial to all users.




                                                                             About Me

I’m originally from Jackson, Mississippi, received my bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College (an HBCU), and received my law degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I served as a law clerk for the Mississippi Supreme Court from 2005-2006. In addition, working for several Fortune 500 companies in Chicago gave me the knowledge and experience to turn my idea into the reality of starting my own company and MyLegalEdge was born.

The vision is to create a reputation for delivering the highest quality legal forms at the most competitive price points.

Prior to founding MyLegalEdge, I learned that consumers were having a confusing and time consuming process when looking for appropriate legal forms, often becoming overwhelmed. Even other companies that offer online legal forms charge clients membership fees, but with MyLegalEdge, clients can get what they need without any strings attached.

                                                                             How it Works

MyLegalEdge is easy to use – helping both the tech savvy guru and the tech novice consumer get what they need quickly and easily. I also invested in a toll-free number users can call if they need help. In certain cases, when customers may not have the appropriate technology or knowledge, I physically mail customers the form directly to their home address to help ensure happy customers and a smooth process.

I plan to continue making the site seamless and easy to use as I continue to develop the website and mobile application upon additional funding.

The process works as follows:

Customers can visit the homepage on either the mobile application or company website



                         Users can Search for forms by state or by document type.



           Customers can learn more about the document and add it to cart



Customers are the directed a shopping cart where new and returning customers can log in or create an account, use stored payment information or add a new card, and download their product. 

The online site also has a blog for customers to learn more about MyLegalEdge’s services and products, along with a variety of tools and pages to help guide customers through the purchasing process.




                                                                  Why CrowdFunding?

Crowdfunding the next chapter of my business will allow me to continue to cover the financial cost of expanding the company, hire the proper staff to maintain/upgrade the website, and market the website. In addition, crowdfunding will allow me to have direct contact with those I seek to serve and to hear your voices as to what your needs are. This ensures that the products and services that are being created are useful and meet your needs.

I do not require membership subscriptions to purchase from the website, customers can buy what they need, when they need it. The forms are state specific and the website offers competitive pricing.

Any contribution you make will go directly to upgrading/maintaining the website, making the necessary hires to maintain the website, and marketing. I will need $175,000.00 to continue funding the company for the following:

Salaries (Content Creators, IT Specialist, Customer Service):  $105,00.00
