LACASTRO needs your support.

Hey guys! This is Gui Castro and I'm here seeking your support on behalf of LACASTRO. We have faced many challenges since the beginning of this project in 2020 when we had to remodel our location, but after some setbacks, we were able to open and start operations in 2021. As an immigrant opening a new business right after the pandemic, I wasn’t able to secure traditional financial support from the banks so we had to navigate operating and running the business with limited resources. Luckily, with the amazing support of our community we have made this far! This year, as with many other small businesses, we have faced some financial challenges that are beginning to slow us down. Such challenges included getting ahead of season and bringing in fresh designs, rent and even payroll.

As you guys may know, the majority of our clothing is manufactured in Brazil by my own family and following my designs, choice of fabrics, and patterns. It is a labor of love and passion for me and for them and it is my promise to keep working hard to bring new designs, styles, and quality products while providing our community a safe and comfortable place to shop.

Founded by Gui Castro in 2020 amid the pandemic, our brand swiftly ascended, with our iconic swimwear gracing the runway of the 2022 New York Swim Week. Recognized as the 2022 Best Local Men’s Clothing Store by Orlando Weekly and honored as the 2023 third-place winner of the Watermark Awards LGBTQ favorites for Variety and Excellence for Favorite Local LGBTQ clothing store, we've been devoted to offering vibrant fashion.

Nestled in the heart of Mills Ave, our boutique showcases a fusion of Brazilian fashion and Orlando's allure, boasting clothing, accessories, exclusive men’s swimwear, and eyewear. As a proud LGBTQ+ owned establishment, we've strived to be a beacon of diversity and inclusion in Central Florida's community.

In this challenging landscape for local minority businesses, we humbly ask for your support to stay afloat and continue championing our community. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to ensure our doors remain open, allowing us to craft unique designs and bolster local initiatives.
