Support for Kingsley River Delatorre on his journey to grow and become eligible for Kidney Transplant.
Two years ago on May 26th, 2022. A Warrior was born. Kingsley River Delatorre came into the world ready to show his strength and take on the world. Unfortunately, Kingsley has not been able to see most the world due to spending the last two years of life in and out of the hospital.
Kingsley has been diagnosed with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome, Anemia,
End Stage Renal Disease, Protein Calorie Malnutrition, Congenital Heart Disease, 17q12 Microduplication Syndrom, Inadequate Weight gain, Severe Malnourishment of a child.
Kingsley's life has been anything but normal. Kingsley has spent a the first year of the life inpatient and has only spent a total of about 7 months out of the hospital his entire life. Because of this, Kingsley has never had a normal Christmas, has been inpatient for his birthdays and isnt able to interact with the world around him. Despite this, Kingsley remains to be an inspiration to others always smiling and making others smile.
Kingsley has been on PD diaylisis for a year in hope that if we remove his problem kidneys he would start to grow. Unfortunately, Kingsley has been unable to grow. He has not gain a single pound in over a year and is the same size as last year. Which makes Kingsley still ineligible for a kidney transplant and is putting him at serious risk of not being able to grow to growth being stunted. Because Kingsley has been unable to grow, his brain, muscles and bones have not been growing.
Kingsley is taken care of by myself, his mom. I am a single Mom to a child that the doctors are having an extremely hard time figuring why he is not growing or getting better. The doctors have informed us that they have ran every test here that they can think of to figure out why my son is unable to grow.
Because he is unable and has not grown, we are back admitted inpatient in the hospital. Which the doctors informed us may be another several months of us being in the hospital until we are hopefully get him to gain weight.
We are asking for the community's support on Kingsley's journey to getting better and becoming eligible for a kidney transplant. I am required to be with my son and due to that, we are having a hard time being able to pay our housing, and daily bills.
Kingsley and I would appreciate any help you are able to give or any prayers that may be said.
Thank you so much. Kingsley will continue to fight to be here each day and I will continue to fight for answers.
