SUPPORT KINGS BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT JOURNEY

Donation protected
Hello loves, my name is Tasha and I am the mother and primary caregiver of King Isaiah Grant . He is a 16yr old handsome, young man that has been fighting a terminal illness called Chronic granulomatous disease, since the first year of his life. He has suffered through many infections and underlying medical issues. He currently has a ostomy bag, fitschula in his bottom, lung disease, gtube, colitis in his gut , ongoing infections which includes septic arthritis to his knee and chronic joint pain. His favorite sport to play was baseball until his condition turned for the worse. He is homeschooled as much as possible when feeling well to participate. Nowadays he lacks a social life with his peers outside the home but enjoys his video games in house for the most part.  Through all his trials and tribulations he still somehow manages to smile. King is to a point where he is tired of suffering through all of this mentally , emotionally and physically especially! For over a decade, we have been in search of a bone marrow transplant donor. As an African American it is hard finding such a match due to the lack of awareness of the need for black bone marrow donors. We just recently received some amazing news though!! WE HAVE FOUND the best 9/10 bone marrow donor match finally!! I am putting my pride aside for my baby's sake to ask for any help we can get to make sure the BMT transplant happens in a few months. We have already started the process flying out to the NIH in Maryland for pre transplant visits. A moment we should be ecstatic about is actually overwhelming due to major financial restraints with me being a single parent of King and his two sisters whom recently just relocated to Tallahassee for college with little to no consistent support, mainly financially . The doctors wanted to have his transplant OCT2023 because he is exhausting all therapy options but I had to ask for it to be pushed back for January due to financial reasons. We have to plan to be in Maryland until MAY 2024 for the Bone marrow transplant process and recovery.  I am hoping for help with fundraising atleast 50k which was the least recommended amount given to me . Any funding we may qualify for so it will be no further delays with be appreciated as well. Whatever we aren’t able to raise I will continue trying to do whatever I can to come up with it .
Full transparency,  As his primary and only caregiver, I am having to take an unpaid leave from my job to be with KING and relocate to Maryland at the NIH for several months through his BMT transplant and recovery. I have to be by his side 24/7 with replacement sitting in for me for a short period the first 100 days (Housing (air b n b , vrbo or local apt) , travel to and from Fl for myself and replacements (support system), local transportation to get around for necessities , food outside hospital, anything medically not covered etc.) Maryland is a very expensive place to live in and on our return back we are going to have to start all over with housing as well seeing I am having to give up almost everything and anything else we may lose through this process. Not having financial issues on my mind while he go through this process and recovery after will be ideal.
I will be keeping all of our supporters updated as much as possible.  Thanks again for every donation,  prayer and support from our family to yours #kingfightingcgd #kingsbonemarrowmatchjourney
