Support Kayla's Recovery From Surgery

Hello friends and community,

I am seeking support and good vibes to help me during my recovery from major abdominal surgery this September.

Long story short, I have always struggled with extremely painful and heavy periods, and it became absolutely unbearable this year, so I finally saw a doctor about it. I was bleeding so much that it has made me anemic and caused me to faint. The pain has been so intense I've had to miss work on several occasions, unable to stand or walk, and even prescription painkillers have provided no relief. I finally went on a journey to figure out the source and a solution this year, and it turns out I have endometriosis, fibroids, and a burst ovarian cyst. I'm now scheduled for a total hysterectomy and salpingectomy in September. I have already accumulated over $2k in medical debt from the doctor visits leading up to the surgery (even with insurance), and will have to miss up to six weeks of work (unpaid) for recovery, as well as incur further medical expenses associated with an overnight hospital stay, surgery, and follow up appointments. I live alone and will likely not be able to cook for myself during at least part of my recovery, which means I will probably be leaning on delivery food services during that time as well.

I greatly appreciate any help you are able to give, and all donations will be used toward supporting myself during my recovery, and hopefully moving myself toward a greater quality of life!
