Support Karen Lee's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
Karen wants to thank everyone for their incredibly kind and generous gifts to the GoFundMe account set up by Mari Stevens. Karen’s realtor has now found a builder who will buy the property for a fair price. The GoFundMe account was an amazing and timely resource to help secure some of the necessary residential payments for the adult family home where Karen’s Mom is living. Once again, Karen and her family extend their heartfelt gratitude!
Karen Lee teaches choir at IMS and CMMS. She started her career at IMS and she has dedicated 38 YEARS to the children of this community. She is one of the most positive and happy people I know. She believes in kids and she shows up every day with a smile and gives the joy of music to these kids.
After taking care of her mom herself for years, Karen’s 87-year-old mom has been in an adult family home for the last year and a half. Though she paid for long-term care insurance for 15 years, it has now run out. After seeing an elder care attorney, Karen was advised to sell her house to get the necessary funds for her mom’s continued care. Karen and her mom are each on the title as co-owners, so her mom doesn’t qualify for Medicaid. This is the home her parents bought when Karen was two years old. Karen lives with her daughter and has been given a short time to clear everything out and prepare to move. In keeping with her usual positive nature, Karen has been posting sweet pictures with the theme “This House Has Held…” and sharing a lifetime of memories.
Karen and her daughter are now looking for a new place to live while packing and grieving.
We would like to raise funds for Karen, her mother, and her daughter. They will need continued support with her mom. Karen has dedicated her entire career to the children of this community. It would be an amazing gift to be able to support her now. Every donation will go directly to her and her family.
