Support Jen and Mike's IVF Journey

Donation protected
Have you ever had to watch a great friend go through a painful experience knowing that you can’t do anything to help them? At first, we thought that’s the situation we were in as we watched our friend and co-worker struggle with infertility, and then we realized we could do something to help. That’s where this GoFundMe comes from- the hearts of friends who care and want to help.

Jen and Mike have been trying consistently for 4 years to conceive a baby and start a family of their own and it seems as if they have hit every hurdle, every road block, every brick wall, they possibly could. The proceeds of this GoFundMe will be used to help off-set the cost of their next, and final, option- IVF. Here is their story in Jen’s own words.

We started trying for a baby in 2020 and didn’t get our first positive until July 2021. Sadly, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks. Immediately after my miscarriage we got pregnant again, but that resulted in an ectopic pregnancy. The ectopic pregnancy required me to need emergency surgery to remove my right fallopian tube. I was only 31 years old and we hadn’t even been married a year yet. Another pregnancy in February of 2022 ended in miscarriage. We continued to try, with no luck, and finally decided to consult with a fertility specialist in January 2023. During that time, Mike had a very bad accident at work that resulted in an injury that has prevented him from returning to work. He has had multiple surgeries and might possibly have to have more, and his continued employment in his field of work is questionable. There have been insurance issues and financial difficulties as a result of his injury that have caused us to delay going to a fertility specialist. The specialist encouraged us to begin with IUI, which we did for the first time in September 2023. Two weeks later we learned it had failed and we were not pregnant. We tried a second time in March 2024, after a hiatus due to Mike’s surgeries, and the loss of his mother, we learned again that it had not worked. In May 2024, our fertility doctor informed us that our best, and only option to conceive would be through IVF. As you can imagine, there has been a lot of heartache and stress due to the infertility and Mike’s inability to work. While we do have the means to raise a child, the cost of IVF will be around $25,000 for each round we undergo. We would love nothing more than to have a baby of our own, and any help we get will be greatly appreciated, more than we could ever express.
