Support Jackson-Reed Crew in your End-Of-Year Charity Donations

Your charitable donations help support Jackson-Reed Crew (formerly Wilson Crew), the oldest high school rowing program in the District of Columbia. Jackson-Reed Crew is not funded through DCPS or Jackson-Reed High School like most of the major sports teams at the school. Instead, Jackson-Reed Crew* is a 501c3 nonprofit organization run by the Jackson-Reed Crew Boosters volunteers, which is responsible for raising all the funds necessary to operate Jackson-Reed Crew.

The team consists of over 100 student-athletes and fields four independent squads: Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, Novice Boys and Novice Girls. In addition, Jackson-Reed Crew runs Learn-to-Row programs for DCPS middle school students. The Jackson-Reed Crew Tigers are part of the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association (WMIRA) and compete annually at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, Head of the Charles Regatta, and SRAA Nationals.

Your donation would raise funds towards scholarships for our student-athletes, replace aging equipment, and support our operating budget – so our students can focus on what they do best.

What would this money pay for?

$1800 provides a student-athlete a scholarship for one year

$1000 purchases a new erg so our rowers can practice even off the water

$250 buys one oar (in a set of eight)

In addition to teaching students how to push their physical limits, Jackson-Reed Crew strives to teach our middle and high school rowers the value of hard work, accountability, teamwork, dedication, and commitment.
