Support Hilary's Rehabilitation

Donation protected
UPDATE | August, 1st

Hilary is the mother to Anais and Sebastian, daughter of Phil and Pamela, and brother to Chris, and a friend to so many others. She is a hairstylist who has built her salon "Salon Oasis" from the ground up, and right now, she is in the hospital from a viral brain infection  and auto immune disorder that attacks the white blood cells and she needs our support and love.

We, her family, are seeking financial support on Hilary's behalf for medical bills not covered by insurance, specifically, her long term rehabilitation and care, which falls outside of the insurance coverage. We will detail where all of the money will go before we withdraw from this account as we solidify what needs to happen. Please help us spread the word about this need, so that we can all come together to support this difficult circumstance and time in Hilary's life.

Our mom has been transferred from Hackley Hospital general floor to Spectrum Butterworth Neuroscience wing, and now to the Neuro Surgery ICU at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids, MI because her symptoms have increased in severity. She has been diagnosed with not having had a stroke, as Hackley misread the MRI, and rather a hard-to-beat Viral Brain Infection, and a auto immune disorder that attacks the body's white blood cells. The Neuro Surgery team is also testing for a third and unknown disease or infection.

The last cat scan two days ago shows she's stable and the brain bleed is reabsorbing into her body. The inflammation from the viral brain infection that pushed her brain 8 centimeters to the right and endangered the brain stem, has now lessened by 4 centimeters. We're thankful that ICU has saved our mom's life and we are continuing to pray for recovery, as she is still at risk to suddenly decline as she did a week and a day ago from the auto immune disorder that attacked white blood cells, and the brain infection that is difficult to beat.

As Hilary recovers, we're noticing changes to her mood and personality. These will continue to evolve as her brain heals, and she is in no way close to where she will "end up" after the healing process is done. However, it is clear she will need extensive therapy and in-home care following her hospital stay, which we're assuming will be for at least the coming weeks, considering she's still in ICU.

As we, her children (Anais and Sebatian) plan for her recovery, release, and rehabilitation, we're asking for financial help, and to spread the word about this Go Fund Me page before the campaign ends on August 11th.

We of course will detail on the "Pray for Hilary" facebook page where funds will go as we develop the plan. We're all about transparency :) But please, consider sharing this funding page, or contributing to Hilary's future as we can't do this on our own. The funds will be deposited into Hilary's bank account and used to fund her long-term rehabilitation and care.

Hilary will need extensive rehabilitation that is not covered by insurance, so we're thankful for any contributions to help her gain her life back after her time in the ICU.

Here's what we know now:

Hilary went to the emergency room and was sent home, despite suffering from some severe medical condition at that time. She was later found two days after the ER visit at the police station trying to find the hospital, because she had forgot how to get home due to brain inflammation. They rushed her to the hospital and have since been treating her for a viral brain infection.

She is currently residing at Hackley Hospital room 307 in Muskegon, and would love any encouragement, love, support, and visits.

We are hopeful for a full recovery. There is a long road ahead, and rehabilitation will be a necessary part of healing from the stroke, and neurological infection. Please help us fund the rehabilitation she needs.
