Support Hannah in Transforming Radioactive Waste

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and supporters,

We’re reaching out with an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the field of sustainable energy and radioactive waste management. Our sister, Hannah, has been accepted into a groundbreaking PhD program at Sheffield Hallam University called "Thermal Treatment of Radioactive Wastes: A Disposability Toolbox." We are rallying behind Hannah to help her embark on this transformative journey and make a lasting impact on the environment and our future.

Hannah's Vision:
Hannah has always been passionate about sustainability and finding innovative solutions to pressing challenges. With a background in glass research and testing and expertise in fractography, Hannah possesses a unique set of skills that she aims to leverage in the field of radioactive waste management. Her research will focus on developing effective thermal treatment methods to reduce waste volume, thus addressing the energy crisis while ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for future generations.

Creating a Sustainable Future:
In our pursuit of creating a sustainable future, Hannah's project holds immense promise. By defining precise process parameters and establishing a comprehensive safety case for each vitrification method and resulting product, her project ensures the utmost efficiency and safety in waste management. It also aims to achieve measurable reductions in waste volume, a crucial step towards minimizing environmental impact. By defining and refining vitrification methods, Hannah is dedicated to enhancing affordability and sustainability, increasing accessibility for widespread adoption. Together, we can support Hannah's groundbreaking efforts to revolutionize waste management and propel us towards a cleaner, greener future.

A Personal Journey:
For Hannah, this PhD program holds profound personal significance. Both she and her husband, Chris, have always had a love for travel, but it was in Sheffield that they found a place they could truly call home. As Americans, this program serves as an opportunity for them to become full-time residents of Sheffield and contribute to the local community as well as the global economy. By establishing their roots in Sheffield, Hannah and Chris aim to break cycles of housing insecurity and poverty, building a brighter future for their family.

Your Support Matters:
We humbly request your support to make Hannah's dream a reality. Hannah has been accepted into the PhD program and has earned funding supported by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authorities. However, as an international student, Hannah has additional tuition and living costs, and she needs our help to close the gap.

Our primary goal is to raise just over £10,000, which covers the international fee required by the university. Our secondary fundraising goal is to secure housing costs for Hannah and her family, as international students are required to pay six months in advance. Without our support, Hannah will not be able to accept her place in the program. In the event that we don't meet these funding goals, Hannah will reimburse any contributions made toward this campaign.

But we are confident that together, we can raise these funds. And if we exceed our goals, the additional funds will be applied to the costs of the upcoming 2024–2025 academic year. Your contributions will go directly towards covering tuition fees and the cost of living during this crucial period. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact and brings us one step closer to achieving our fundraising goal. Your support will not only help Hannah meet her immediate needs, but also provide a strong foundation for Hannah's continued academic journey, and impact on sustainability and a greener tomorrow.

Join Us on this Journey:
We believe that together, we can create a sustainable future and make a lasting impact on the world. By supporting Hannah's studies, you become an integral part of this transformative journey. Your contribution will not only fuel groundbreaking research but also help unlock the potential of sustainable energy and radioactive waste management. Join us in empowering Hannah to become a catalyst for positive change.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support. Together, we can redefine what is possible and shape a future we can all be proud of.

With gratitude,
Jaime & Meadow (Hannah’s adoring siblings)
