Stand With Grace in Her Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

I am reaching out today on behalf of Grace, a sister, friend, coworker, partner, and beloved member of our community. At only 25 years old, she is now facing the fight of her life.

Just weeks ago, what was thought to be an incarcerated hernia turned out to be something far more devastating. During surgery, doctors discovered and removed a tumor nearly the size of a baseball. The diagnosis: extraskeletal soft tissue osteosarcoma—a rare, aggressive, high-grade cancer.

If you know Grace, you know she’s a giver. Tender-hearted, kind, and thoughtful—someone who pours herself out for others until she runs dry. She is loyal, determined, and honest. A sister, friend, coworker, and partner who lights up every room she walks into. She loves to laugh, sing, and be surrounded by people she cares about. She’s relentless in spirit, even if too hard on herself at times. Grace deserves to live fully—to see the Northern Lights, kayak Florida’s springs, share a negroni in Milan, and celebrate life’s grand and simple adventures. Instead, she is preparing for her battle against cancer.

Grace’s Journey

Following surgery, Grace has undergone a series of scans and evaluations. The good news is that doctors currently believe the cancer is localized. The hard truth is that it must be treated aggressively, with a year-long plan under the care of Dr. Metts and Dr. Mullinax at Moffitt Cancer Center and Dr. Sandler at Golisano Children’s Hospital:

Chemotherapy: 6 months of treatment every three weeks, requiring 3-day hospital stays on a continuous chemo drip. This carries serious risks, including a 50/50 chance of permanent hearing loss.
Radiation: 3–4 weeks of daily treatments in Tampa with a sarcoma specialist.
Surgery: A major operation to ensure all cancer cells are removed with safe margins.
Recovery: Weeks to months of rehabilitation and strength rebuilding.
Travel: Ongoing trips between Naples, Fort Myers, and Tampa for specialists and treatment.

Why We Need Help

A week before her surgery, Grace accepted a promotion at her dream firm—a milestone she earned through sheer determination. But that timing made her ineligible for disability benefits. Now she faces this battle with no income and no safety net.

The bills have already started arriving—PET scans, multiple MRIs, CT scans—and treatment hasn’t even begun. This is the financial reality of cancer: the costs hit immediately and grow with every step forward.

Here’s what this year will bring in medical expenses:

Chemotherapy & Hospital Stays: 6 months of treatment, every three weeks, with multiple 3-day hospital admissions.
Radiation: 3–4 weeks of daily treatments in Tampa with a sarcoma specialist.
Surgery: Major operation to ensure clean margins.
Scans & Testing: Ongoing MRIs, PET scans, CT scans, and monitoring of her heart and hearing.
Medications & Follow-ups
Travel for Care

Together, these expenses add up to at least $75,000 out-of-pocket medical costs.

This fund is dedicated solely to covering Grace’s medical care. Every dollar goes directly toward the treatments, hospital stays, and specialized care she needs to survive.

Why Your Support Matters
My mother fought breast cancer for four years, and I learned this truth deeply: no matter how strong you are in body or mind, no one fights cancer alone.

Grace cannot carry this alone. Her family cannot carry this alone. We need help.

Whether it’s a $10 donation, a share of this page, a meal, a laugh, or a moment of your time—every act matters. Every ounce of support brings us closer to carrying Grace through this.

Grace has always been the one who shows up, who gives, who pours herself into others. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you for standing with Grace.

With love and gratitude,
Chelseay
