Support Giselle Rowing for Ireland!

Giselle has always had high expectations and a dream to one day Row Internationally for Ireland....Dreams do come true!

It was officially announced yesterday by Rowing Ireland that Giselle will represent Ireland at the Coupe de la Jeunesse 2021. The Junior Rowing Championships will take place from 6th-8th August in Linz, Austria.

Giselle has shown outstanding commitment, drive, passion and a relentless focus on achieving her goals. COVID-19 came along and halted rowing training, but not for Giselle! She trained for a year in our garage on the rowing machine, knocking out 4 Irish records, even including a rowing half-marathon!

When water training opened up again in early March 2021, as an elite athlete Giselle was permitted to train on the Lagan 7 days a week.

Nothing was going to stop this girl, nothing was going to get in her way. After several weeks and weekends travelling to Cork with Giselle for trials she was selected to attend the elite athlete training camp.

For the last 6 weeks Giselle has been living away from home in Cork, training at the National Rowing Centre of Excellence, following a rigorous training program.

As a Junior Rower for Ireland NO funding from any source is provided. The cost we are being asked to incur include flights, accommodation, meals, boat rental, boat transportation, bus hire, racing and kit.

As a family we have never hesitated to support Giselle's Rowing Dream, nor the expenses incurred along the way... but we would welcome any contributions, funding or even sponsorships for Giselle's Junior Rowing Career.
