Support Fund for the Family of Barakat Bello

Barakat Bello was an 18-year old student of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) at the Federal College of Animal Health and Production in Ibadan, Oyo State. She was attacked, raped, and killed by an unknown person on Monday, 3rd of June 2020. According to her father, Kasimu Bello, the incident occurred when all other members of the family were not around. Barakat’s younger sister, who came back from Ile Kewu (Quranic lessons) was the first to detect the sad incident. She found her lying in a pool of her own blood, with different marks on her body. Barakat had not just been raped but brutalized till the point of death.

Aisha Yusuff, a Twitter user watched the interview with Barakat’s mom for BBC Yorùbá and expressed an interest in raising some funds for the family, along with some other users. She was able to get the contact details of the family a while later and then obtained permission from them to create this GoFundMe campaign.

The sole aim of this campaign is to raise donations for Barakat's family. All monies raised here (after GoFundMe's processing fee) will go directly to Barakat’s family.
