Love and Support for Trooper Chris Wooten

$33,020 of $125,000 goal

Raised by 329 people in 23 days
Created July 27, 2019
Trooper Christopher Wooten is a part of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Chris is the husband of Sharon Wooten who is part of GR8 People and our valued teammate. On Monday July 22nd he was in pursuit of a suspect on his motorcycle who refused to pull over and both vehicles went through a red light where Chris was struck by an oncoming truck, seriously injuring him.

Unfortunately, after the performance of several medical procedures,  the surgeons are classifying the injury as a complete spinal cord injury at the top of the spine, which is resulting in paralysis from the neck down.

As this news is difficult, we will stand side by side with Chris, Sharon and the Wooten family to offer of our encouragement and support in the coming weeks and months.

Unfortunate life events bring the best out in people so I’m hoping to show the Wooten family all the love and support we can through this difficult time with this fundraiser to help with his continued recovery.

Dear Team Wooten,
I wanted to again thank you all for the continued support and love of Trooper Chris Wooten - the family's heart is full and its because of all of you.

I am happy to report that Chris started his new chapter in Atlanta at the Shepherd Center last week.

The past two and a half weeks have been a roller coaster for the family, but we are all pulling for Chris as he enters rehab. As you will see from the photo's Chris was escorted from the hospital by his patrol family and welcomed to Atlanta and Shepard greeted by hundreds in support of him.

As we all know this is a long journey for Chris and the family. I thank all of you again for your support and ask each of you to be creative in your sharing of the go fund me page.

Thank you Team Wooten - lets continue to show Chris our love and support!

Dear Support Team
I want to thank everyone for your love and support of the Wooten Family. We exceeded our first goal in 2 days, and this is a true reflection of Chris and the family. As everyone knows it a long road and here is share from another colleague of Sharon:

Hi this is Stacey; I work with Sharon and Diane and was lucky enough to spend some time with Chris during his visit to Yardley last month. Chris accompanied me on a trip to the gift shop at the New Jersey State Police HQ, (my husband is a retired NJ State Trooper) and we had a great conversation, which was extended a bit due to too much talking and not enough listening to the GPS.

In any state, the State Police are the cream of the crop, and after speaking at length with Chris, I could see how dedicated he is to the job. Seeing Sharon and Chris together during our team functions just confirmed for me what an exceptional human being he is.

This is a major curveball thrown in their plans. But it’s just that; plans will have to change; adjustments will be made. Chris, Sharon, Kylie, and Madi have each other and that is what is important.

Being a Trooper doesn’t make a man. Being a Trooper reveals what a man is made of. I think we all can see what a fighter Chris is, let’s continue to support him in his journey.

Please reshare and tweet for this important cause.
Thank you all!
