Help Tim Oliveri fight Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
A life can change in an instant.......This past May, my brother Tim and his family's lives were  forced to change course after he was given a devastating Pancreatic cancer diagnosis.  The goal of this page is to help alleviate the increased financial burden due to hospital bills and loss of work in addition to providing future support for his family.  Our family has been overwhelmed by the amazing circle of love, support and strength given at this time. We couldn't get through this journey without all of you!

Tim's Journey - May 2019
At the time of diagnosis a large tumor had blocked the pancreas duct which caused jaundice and major back and abdomen pain.  After a surgery to place a shunt from the pancreas to the liver his jaundice quickly started to go away.  Unfortunately, a week before Tim was supposed to start chemo, the shunt became blocked and infected.  After a stay in the hospital and  another surgery to replace the shunt, ,chemo was finally started after numerous weeks of delay. After 2 months of aggressive chemo, many set backs, another emergency stomach surgery and multiple extended stays in the hospital, the team at Mass General concluded that the chemo was causing too many negative secondary issues.  The aggressive chemo treatment was ended at this time.  In September at a follow up appointment, Tim and Kerry were told that the cancer had spread to the Liver.   Going forward with this news, a new chemo plan was put into place.   Tim had 4 rounds  before another scan would unfortunately reveal the liver tumor had grown 47%.  At this time all chemo treatments have stopped and Tim is awaiting the results of a new potential trial treatment.  A liquid biopsy (blood) was taken and tested to see if he may fit the criteria for a new trial at Mass General.  The trial is working to figure out why if some cancer cells can be killed off by chemo treatments why are some of these same cells able to resist the chemo.

Through it all, Tim has remained strong, optimistic and ever self-less, always expressing  care and concern for those around him.  Despite the numerous hurdles, Tim still has a lot of fight left in him to continue this battle!  Thank you all for your continued love and prayers!
