In addition to prayer, if you would like to support the Viera family, we have secured a room for Ricardo and his family at the hotel connected to Wake Med Hospital to rest and refresh as they remain by Rachel’s side during her extended stay in the ICU.

Any funds raised that exceed the cost of the hotel will be given directly to Ricardo to support other needs associated with Rachel's care.

Your prayers are also needed for our beloved friend and art teacher, Rachel, who was admitted to the hospital on Jan 17 for emergency surgery to address a suspected brain aneurysm.

As you can imagine, the situation is quite serious and Rachel will likely have a long road to recovery ahead.

Rachel remains in the neuro intensive care unit, fully sedated, to give her brain time to rest. Ricardo has expressed profound gratitude for the care she has received from the providers in the ICU who have been monitoring her for signs of recovery each day.

I know I speak for Ricardo and the Viera family when I say that we cannot thank you enough for your steadfast prayers for Rachel.

Please continue in your intercessions on Rachel’s behalf.

One meaningful way we can pray together as a community is for each person to pray at 1:11 PM each day with the prayer from Colossians 1:11, that they would “be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.” You can simply set a silent alarm for 1:11 PM to remind you to pray these big prayers for the Vieras at that time, knowing others from the community are joining in this intercession as well.
