Support for the McInnis & Noble Family

In March 2020, Covid-19 flipped the world as we knew it upside down. For the McInnis and Noble family, their troubles started just before then, amplifying their problems tenfold.



My sister, Erin, and her husband, Sean, are two of the most independent people I know. Erin runs a successful pet care service in the Kentucky state area while Sean teaches and coaches Basketball for the local school. They're used to serving others, giving back, and helping out whenever they can. However, this year has been the toughest that they've ever had to face. From Covid affecting their small business to tragedy destroying their home, the McInnis and Noble family could use your support now more than ever. 

Let's go back to the beginning of 2020 and follow the McInnis and Noble family and how they became homeless during a pandemic:

Early Winter 2020
The family started getting sick. First, it was memory fog. Then, the ability to think clearly. Third, sleeping, eating, and just simply breathing became a struggle. If that wasn't enough, the abrasions and infections began. Doctors didn't help. ER visits didn't help. Something was wrong, but they didn't know just what it was yet.



Spring and Summer 2020
Heavyset water damage under the house had started causing several issues, both within the house and of the health of the family. Mold and bacteria levels had become so toxic that the family had become sick. This was just as Covid-19 began to run rampant, so you can imagine what a huge financial and emotional strain this caused. They lost almost everything in the house. Clothes, furniture, and things they needed to live their daily lives were gone. There were things from Sean's late son and late ex-wife that they'll never be able to replace. Nevertheless, the family hopes to start slowly replacing and finishing the work to make it safe to live there again.

During this time, the family couldn't live in their house for the wellbeing of their family. While waiting for insurance matters to settle (an ongoing battle), the family drained their savings by staying at multiple local hotels. Changing hotel rates transformed the McInnis/Noble clan into nomads, and not by choice. Can you imagine three kids taking zoom classes using hotel wifi? Living in a different hotel week to week? Not an ideal situation for middle school and high school students to be in and certainly not a great environment to run a small business from.



Fall 2020
After deciding months in a hotel was enough, the family decided they deserved to at least temporarily settle somewhere stable. They leased an apartment that was supposed to be furnished but to their surprised upon move-in, this was not the case.  Now, they're sleeping on air mattresses trying to live in a new environment while paying double on everything, which has taken all of their savings. Not only that, but they found out that insurance does not cover mold or water damage — mentioned five months after the family first started their claim. The hits keep coming. 

Present Day 2020
With added surprise rent fees and slow movement of government relief like the Care Act, the McInnis and Noble family are currently facing eviction in their temporary housing. Every credit card has been canceled. Erin's business took a massive hit from the pandemic, as many people don't need pet care services, leaving Sean with the sole income to support a family of five, two houses, two sets of bills, along with trying to slowly obtain all the belongings they lost at the beginning of the year, including family cars. 



Any money donated will go towards the McInnis/Noble family's living situation, ensuring the safety of their family, and rebuilding their lives and home. Their goal, as quoted through insurance, is around $35k-$40k, but they're grateful for any money you can contribute. Their focus is on keeping everyone safe and heathy (and keeping a roof over their heads, especially with the holidays approaching).

Erin and Sean have three kids – Laci (16), Austin (14), and Gavin (11) – and they've been without their rooms, beds, safe space, toys, books, and just... everything since April. They've been living out of suitcases and have been dealing with devastating losses that I as an adult woman can't imagine — and have been absolute troopers about it. Let's get them back home.
