Support for the Grussing Family

What I'm raising money for:
As most of you know, Angela became seriously ill while in Guatemala for service trips this July. She was eventually diagnosed with necrotizing pneumonia in her left lung with loculated empyemas, including an abscess that grew into the lung. She also has three ping pong ball size areas that are dying in her lung.
She was treated in two clinics before going to the hospital in Guatemala City. She was then taken by air ambulance to a hospital in FL. After, having major surgery and a few procedures she was transported by another air ambulance to a hospital in Knoxville. She was released from Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville on August 4th and is now recovering at home. She has a long road to recovery and is still very weak and short of breath.
The Grussings have incurred significant expenses with all of the hospitalizations, air ambulance transports, and Matt flying at the last minute to Guatemala to be with her and get her back to Knoxville. At this point, it is unclear exactly what will be covered by insurance and what they will have to pay.
How the money will be used:
All contributions will go directly to the Grussing Family. The money will be used to help defray the unexpected and significant medical and travel expenses incurred when Angela became seriously ill a few weeks ago while leading the Nuestros Ninos service trips in Guatemala.
Any money collected above and beyond these medical and travel expenses will be donated to Mayan Families charity in Guatemala.
Why this is important to me:
Angela and her husband, Matt, have worked selflessly and tirelessly for many years now leading the Nuestros Ninos Charity which supports the basic needs of children and their families in Guatemala. They are constantly fundraising, planning, organizing, packing and holding special events at their own home to ensure this charity and each and every service trip to Guatemala runs smoothly and is successful!
They are always putting others needs ahead of their own.
Right now , due to these circumstances, they are facing significant medical and travel expenses. We are hoping to ease their burden and help them out in their time of need.
