Support for Richard and Victoria our AVM Warrior

Last year in early December Victoria had an MRI as she had been suffering with bad migraines that were waking her from her sleep for 5 weeks, we thought we were just being over dramatic but I pushed her to go to the drs, it was at the time she found out that she had a 6cm AVM in her brain, something she was born with and less than 1% of the population have. She than made an appointment with a neurosurgeon, had an angiogram and was told that her only option was surgery or to live with a "ticking time bomb" that could eventually, at any moment rupture, so she decided to be put on a waiting list, fast forward to the 18th of October and she received a phone call it was her turn on the waiting list and she had less than two weeks to prepare, it was than pushed out another week because her surgeon was unwell. On the 14th of November she went into the hospital at 6 am, the surgery was estimated to take 10 hours and ended up being roughly 15 hours as there were complications and she had severe swelling on her brain, she was taken back in for another 6 hours, we received a phone call at 7 am to come say goodbye because she had less than a 1% survival rate and less than 3 hours to live, but as the family arrived by some miracle she stabilised and her Intracranial pressure had dropped from three times the maximum limit, she was than placed into a medically induced coma. Over the weekend she stayed stable and than had a ct scan on Monday which showed she didn't have a stroke, which is a good sign, she was also taken off the drug to keep her in an induced coma, however this stays in your system for a week, in the days following she had another angiogram to make sure all the AVM was removed and it was, following that she faced her next challenge which was removing the packs in her brain that were placed because of the bleeding, she is a fighter and had no complications with this, they weren't able to place her bone back yet as there is still some swelling. She is yet to wake up, but in the last few days she is responding to pain and also has done some movements while we talk to her, it's going to be a long road ahead, and no one can tell when she will wake up, but we staying positive because she has exceeded every expectation thus far.  Through all of this Richard has been by her side every single day, and unfortunately the bills still need to be paid so it's looking like he will have no choice but to go back to work. Anyone who knows Victoria and Richard know they have three fur babies and how involved they are with the RSPCA, raising money and doing the Million paws walk every year, but now it's time to support them so please any donation big or small will help them financially, but most of all please keep sending those positive vibes and keep Victoria in your prayers. Keep fighting sis.  Thank you,  Sarah and Igor
