Support for Ravindar Godishala & Family

Dear Friends,

I Madhavi Godishala, wife of Ravindar Godishala (42) and mother of only child Harshith Godishala (12), share the dreadful shock that we are going through.

As an aspiring family full of dreams and hopes to give a better life to our son, we moved to the United States in 2015. Everything was going smoothly in our lives, but on Feb 6th, early morning Ravindar fell unconscious in the restroom and was taken to the emergency.

Upon the Doctors examination, it was concluded as a ruptured brain aneurysm. Endovascular surgery was performed to fix the aneurysm, which stopped the further internal bleeding.

Though the surgery successfully controlled the bleeding, there was significant damage to the brain tissues caused by the bleeding. For the first three weeks, doctors kept him in observation.

During this phase, Ravindar has been getting several strokes in the brain. Currently, Ravindar is critically stable with a tracheostomy & food pipe and remain unconscious.

After the intensive care, Ravindar needs to be facilitated in a skilled nursing home where he requires continuous medical care for several months until any signs of improvement.

We expect significant expenses for our family post-insurance coverage and savings. Although he has health insurance that covers the basics, there are still many medical expenses that our family cannot afford.

This unexpected event has caused tremendous shock and pressure on us.

Even with a miracle in Ravindar’s life, he needs to be under 100% care and assistance from caregivers to do chores in day-to-day life. As he is not conscious since the incident, doctors couldn’t tell what type of disabilities Ravindar would be leading for the rest of his life.

In addition to the inexplicable pain, our family is under financial pressure. My husband is the sole breadwinner for our family and his elderly parents back in India, and we do not have any other secondary source of income.

Our entire savings were spent on Ravindar’s medical expenses.

With a heavy heart, I am attempting to reach out to everyone who can help us raise funds to continue the medical support for Ravindar. Although life will never be the same for us, I hope that this GoFundMe

will help reduce the immediate financial distress our family is facing while trying to adjust to life to provide care for Ravindar.
