Baby Edward Manuel Arnold was born on February 15, 2020 weighing just 1 lb. 10.5 oz. Our son was born at only 24 weeks and 16 weeks premature; While on a weekend getaway I was rushed to the hospital with contractions and had an emergency c-section as I was already in labor and fully dilated. We are spending all the time we can with our son, but we have expenses not covered by insurance.
Edward Manuel is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) ward of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital in Connecticut. He is in an incubator, receiving breast milk through a feeding tube, and is breathing with the help of a ventilator and chest tube due to a collapsed lung. He receives IV fluids, blood transfusions, platelets, and UV light therapy to reduce jaundice. He is currently under sedation due to a Grade 4 and Grade 3 brain hemorrhage. He is under the watchful eye of the amazing nursing staff 24 hours a day as they continue to monitor him and hope for the best.
Edward Manuel is a real fighter – like his parents! The next few days are critical for our baby boy and his future is still uncertain. We have Faith in God that he will bring us through this.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide financial assistance for Edward Manuel since we are far away from home and out of work to care for him. Every little bit counts and we are enormously grateful for any support you can provide.
