Support for Lynn Mcafee, a pioneering fat elder!

Lynn (McAfee) Mabel-Lois has been a tireless champion of the Fat Liberation movement for half a century. From fighting the diet industry using guerrilla tactics in the 70’s as a member of the Fat Underground, to decades of policy work including attending and testifying at meetings of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Lynn has testified at hearings on new weight-loss prescription drugs, publishing brochures and articles, helped to draft federal guidelines to rein in weight loss companies, and effectively pushed back against the weight loss industrial complex.

Lynn dedicated her life to fat community, and now she needs our help. She currently lives in Florida and no longer has access to the safe housing and healthcare that she needs there. She just needs the funds to wrap up her life in Florida and make the move to California where she has a place to stay and community to support her.
