Hello All,
Before I go into why I'm raising money, I'd like to detail who this is being raised for.
Born May 14th, 1964, my mother Lisa was the first of two children that Martin and Camile would have. Lisa's childhood, and adult life helped to mold her into the strong, independent, and unfailingly loyal person that she is today. She experienced her first true loss when her mother Camile passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 1998. Even though she had to deal with this loss, she still showed strength by raising my younger brother and I by herself, commuting between Florida and New York to help facilitate her own mothers passing. In 2007, our family was devastated by the loss of Martin Levy, Lisa's father. He passed away from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, which is a cancer that starts in the lymph nodes. Even through this Lisa persevered, and continued work hard to provide as a single mother. When my oldest son Jayce was born in October of 2013, and my youngest Jaxon was born in February of 2016, they immediately fell in love with their Bubbei. Even though I may not admit it out loud, they're definitely grandma's boy's. Lisa has supported her family and friends throughout her life with intensity. Always the first one to offer assistance, and the last one to leave after helping.
This brings me now to the reason that I've created this campaign.
On May 19th, 2017 my mother and great friend to many was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Currently there is no cure for this, however many alternative treatments are available to extend the amount of time that she has left.
I've created this page in order to raise money for these treatments, as many of them are not covered by insurance. This will also go towards transportation and hotels for the treatments that require long distance travel.
