Support for Itsuko and Family

It deeply saddens our hearts to inform all of you that Itsuko has been diagnosed with a degenerative brain disorder called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). CJD is a terminal illness and Itsuko has been losing mental and physical function over the last couple of months. The nurses have now told us that they expect she will pass in the coming days, but it is very difficult to give an accurate date. Itsuko has been at home for hospice for about 2 weeks now after a month at the University of Washington Medical Center. She will spend her remaining time surrounded by her loving family and friends.
