Matt and Sara Gillander are expecting their third son Hudson in September. Their sweet baby boy has Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. This means that the right side of the heart that pumps blood to the lungs did not develop properly, and Hudson will need multiple open heart surgeries. Matt and Sara are learning more at each appointment, but there are multiple concerning abnormalities of Hudson’s heart and there is much about the future and what he will need that is unknown. As of right now, Hudson’s first surgery will need to occur within a week of being born and he will need two more in the first few years of his life. They will need to go to California more than a month before his due date so that he can receive the care he needs immediately at birth. There will be medical expenses as well as the costs of traveling, accommodations, and time off of work.

Matt and Sara are truly some of the most sacrificial and selfless people you could imagine. Their love for God, their commitment to the church, and service to others is so evident to all who are blessed enough to know them. From leading worship to serving in about every ministry you can imagine, they are an incredible blessing to so many of us.

They are trusting God even with this difficult news and know that He is holding Hudson and their sweet family in His good and capable hands, and is working all things together for their good.
