It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the recent loss of two promising scholars, Yeimy Paz Gutierrez, and Angel Paz Gutierrez. They are survived by their mother, Elida, and Uncles, Hector, Marvin, and Ronaldo.

Yeimi and Angel Paz Gutierrez made their way from Guatemala to the Highlandtown Community in September 2022. Yeimi, a sweet and soft-spoken girl, left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her eagerness to excel in school and her role as a caring big sister to Angel were truly admirable.

Angel, an outgoing and beloved young boy, brought joy to all who crossed his path. His infectious laughter and friendly demeanor made him a cherished friend among his peers. Always accompanied by his big sister, he had a knack for brightening the lives of teachers and students alike.

Tragedy struck on February 27, 2024, as their family home was engulfed in flames. Despite valiant efforts, both Yeimy, Angel, and another family member succumbed to injuries sustained from the fire.

In this difficult time, we aim to rally financial support for the Paz Gutierrez family, particularly their mother, as they face the immense financial challenges of rebuilding after this tragic event. Your thoughts and prayers for the Paz Gutierrez family are deeply appreciated as we come together to offer solace during this unimaginably difficult period.

Con profunda tristeza compartimos la desgarradora noticia de la reciente pérdida de dos académicos prometedores, Yeimy Paz Gutiérrez y Ángel Paz Gutiérrez. Les sobreviven su madre, Elida, y sus tíos, Héctor, Marvin y Ronaldo.

Yeimi y Ángel Paz Gutiérrez llegaron desde Guatemala a la comunidad de Highlandtown en septiembre de 2022. Yeimi, una niña dulce y de voz suave, dejó una huella imborrable en todos los que tuvieron el placer de conocerla. Su afán por sobresalir en la escuela y su papel como hermana mayor cariñosa de Angel fueron realmente admirables.

Ángel, un joven extrovertido y querido, traía alegría a todos los que se cruzaban en su camino.
