Support for Everlee’s Heart Transplant

Everlee Mueller just turned 5 in December and shortly thereafter was unexpectedly diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy and pulmonary hypertension. The treatment for her diagnosis requires a heart transplant. Because her condition is so severe, she will need to remain at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital until she can receive the necessary heart transplant.

This diagnosis comes on the heels of the family already navigating the hardships of the unexpected loss of their father and husband, Craig. Two months before Everlee’s diagnosis, Craig passed away due to a sudden heart attack. Their lives were uprooted in Montana as they moved back to Illinois to be closer to friends and family.

In the two months between Craig’s passing and Everlee’s diagnosis, the family was making strides to reestablish a sense of normalcy in Illinois. Everlee had begun attending preschool, her eight-year-old sister, Grace, had started attending a new school and Emylee had taken a new job teaching special education at a local school. However, Emylee is now needing to be at Everlee’s bedside fulltime in St. Louis.

Although there is still a lot of uncertainty at the moment, we would like to help alleviate the worry of financial hardships due to the costs of long-term care for a child in a hospital.
