Friends, family, and other lovely people,
This year has been full of so many truly difficult happenings and our mother's health is one of the many complications we have been battling. As of just last week, her ever encouraging team of doctors informed us that treatment was no longer viable. We are working on processing all the inner and outer turmoil that comes with such devastating news.
We only have a short time left with my mother, Tamara Sullivan-Watson, on the earthly side of things. Her endometrial cancer has metastasized to the point where most major organs are affected and we are making her as comfortable as we can.
We will send wake details when the time comes, but we are hoping we have at least a few weeks left with her strong spirit among us.
Due to COVID-19 our family’s small business has slowed down considerably and we are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of hospice, plan for future burial service costs, and our father, Corey Watson, will need time away from his business to process this profound grief and massive life transition.
Based on estimates in our home state of Idaho, the breakdown of all the costs involved for our mother is as follows:
> Hospice bed rental: $1,000/month
> Hospice nurse check-ins: $190/visit
> Medications for comfort: $150/month
> Future burial expenses: $5,000
> Pausing business for a short bereavement period is more of a subjective cost, but will likely cost $3,000+
We will likely be paying these costs in August and September. I’ve started this fundraiser to collect donations for Tamara's end of life needs as well as our family’s mounting needs, as we are her primary caregivers.
