Support for Ellen's Care & Rehabilitation

As many of you already know, our sweet Ellen was in a serious mountain biking accident on May 7, 2023 that left her with severe injuries to her brain stem and a damaged carotid artery. Despite an initially very poor prognosis, Ellen has surprised everyone, her doctors and nurses included, with small but consistent improvements. She's running a long race but making great progress day by day – she is used to these long efforts. Her doctors are now hopeful that some recovery is possible. 

In the hours since the accident, Ellen has been our pillar of strength, calming our fears and reminding us to cherish every moment. Every breath we take is a gift, and Ellen's presence has allowed us to see that more clearly. Despite that initial darkness and uncertainty, Ellen has brought us hope and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of life.
