Dustin Mason’s Story

Dustin Mason of West Monroe, Louisiana has embarked on his journey to recover his health.  While only being 35 years young, Dustin was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.  Multiple Myeloma is an invasive blood (plasma cell) cancer that requires aggressive therapy.  Dustin is self-employed while his wife, Brandy, is currently back in school working hard to upgrade her education to assist their financial needs.  Dustin will require extensive time off to undergo comprehensive therapy. In addition, Dustin is looking into alternative measures to support his system through this extensive journey.  Unfortunately, Dustin will be required to travel outside of the country to receive these other forms of therapy.

Dustin is a very humble man and has been known to give to many who have been less fortunate throughout his 35 yrs.  Due to his kind nature, Dustin has given quietly and always from his heart; never asking for anything in return – not even an honorable mention. He never imagined that he would, one day, be in the position where he, too, would have to rely on the kindness and good nature of others to assist him in his own journey with cancer.

He draws strength from his beautiful wife, Brandy, and his best fur-friend, Lucca.  It has been a difficult process for them as instead of moving forward with establishing themselves in their life, they are in a position where they are fighting for Dustin’s future.

We believe that Dustin’s kind and compassionate demeanorcannot go unrecognized and the kindness that he has so generously bestowed on others will come back to him.  Your generosity and contribution will not only serve in financially assisting him through his treatments but it will serve to lift his spirits at a time where the love and support of others is paramount.  This is a time where the human spirit gets to rise to the top and we get to do what we do best – come together in community when someone else’s need is greater than our own.
