Support for Deric Morris Jr and Family

Early morning on Monday, November 15th, a senseless act of drunk driving claimed the life of Latrece Morris as she was working as an Uber driver to support her family. Latrece leaves behind three young men, Anthony O'Kelly, Jr. (21), Deric Morris Jr. (19), and Dominque Morris (16). More details can be found here .

This fundraiser was created by current and former members of the Springdale Preparatory School family of teachers and administrators to directly support Deric Morris Jr. (SPS Class of 2021) with his school and living expenses. Deric, who is currently a student at Toccoa Falls College, was a dynamic member of the Springdale community. He shared his leadership and passion for life and learning though basketball with his teammates, and though his consistently upbeat personality both in the classroom and in the dorms. Though he thrived while studying away from his family, there was not a day his mother and brothers were not mentioned. His mother was truly a provider, through her love, spirituality, and through her hard work to financially support her sons. We know her memory will be a blessing, and hope the funds raised though this effort will provide a small relief to Deric and his family during this difficult time.
