Rally for Dan & Scarlet

For those unaware, Dan is currently in the hospital with a spinal cord injury that happened on Friday August 11th.  

Dan had surgery on Sunday to remove the damaged vertebrae and relieve the cord compression.  Currently he cannot move or feel his legs, but we are hoping and praying for him. Today, Dan showed good response in his upper extremities and upper chest. 

With this type of injury, it is going to be a long road of physical therapy and ultimately time will tell. 

For those unaware of Scarlet and Dan's journey - they have been through so much together (14 years and counting).  After so much work and preparation they were finally set to be married this September 1st.  Given this unfortunate circumstance and future uncertainty, they made the decision to marry three weeks earlier than planned and were wed at Dan's bedside on Saturday. They have put their dreams on hold to focus their attention and resources on Dan’s recovery and their future together.

On top of all of this, Dan recently set aside his 14-year job to start a new career this week as an elevator mechanic.

They are some of the most kind hearted and selfless people that we know. They are dedicated to their families and friends and always willing to do whatever it takes to help anybody out.  Now is our time to do the same for them.
