Medical Bills and Financial Assistance
On our 25th anniversary in March, Bob went into the hospital with what appeared to be an intestinal blockage. Two days later, we found it was cancer; and his abdomen was completely involved. Fourteen days later, almost to the hour, he passed away. In addition to emotional toll, the financial hit was huge. We took a hit of close to $5,000 a month, and I just can't seem to recover any of it. So far, his medical bills are over $15,000, even after insurance has paid. In addition, I've had two recent eye surgeries within nine days that have kept me off work for what is now three weeks. Unfortunately, we were not smart enough to have life insurance; and there was none through his state retirement. This is my last resort. Any help at all is greatly appreciated and will go towards his medical bills and our household bills.
