Support for Belkiz's Cancer Treatment

Dear Friends and Family, I am Nurmamet Kelpin, Uyghur American residing in Virginia. In light of the relapse of my wife, Belkiz Kelpin’s Multiple Myeloma ( a type of blood cancer), we have set up this GoFundMe to raise funds for the upcoming treatment.

 

As a husband, standing beside her and watching her fight this battle, I am genuinely inspired by her courage and positivity during the most challenging times, and I am sure all our friends no doubt admire her strength and perseverance. Although I am trying my best to support her emotionally, it has been difficult for us to face the financial challenge by ourselves. So today, I am humbly asking for your help to share this burden.

 

As most of you may already know, since Belkiz’s diagnosis, she has been receiving different treatments to remedy the situation, such as bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. Most recently, she was treated with high-dose chemotherapy, radiation and a second round of stem cell transplant, but neither of these worked well. Her doctors informed us that there is a new treatment for Multiple Myeloma called CAR-T cell therapy and that she must receive this treatment to improve her condition. She is already on the waitlist for the treatment and requires 2-3 weeks of hospitalization after the procedure. While many of the medical costs are covered by insurance, there are a lot of out-of-pocket medical expenses associated with her upcoming treatment. We are raising funds to cover the portion not covered by our insurance. This money will also allow us to focus on beating this dreadful disease rather than stressing about the financials.

 

Friends, I want to be able to take her to her favorite vacation spots again, and I want to see her swirling on the dance floor with me again. With your help, I believe we will be able to do just that.
