Support Equity Now: action for healthcare justice

We are a group of 8 researchers, doctors, administrators and program managers engaged in a federal lawsuit against the Mount Sinai Health System for gender, age and race discrimination. Our experiences shed light on the inequities rampant in our healthcare systems and the urgent need for change.

Since we spoke up in 2019, hundreds of people from Mount Sinai and beyond have reached out to share their own stories of  discrimination within healthcare.   

We decided that we couldn't keep quiet - we couldn't let the status quo continue.  We started Equity Now at Mount Sinai to fight for gender and race justice for healthcare employees, students, trainees and most importantly, our patients.

Please join us! Your contributions go directly towards advocacy and action to create change - including raising awareness through public events and press conferences, fighting for change through NYC legislation, publishing and speaking to support our colleagues and drive change, and more.

With your support we have already:
- introduced new legislation in New York City (NYC) to provide protection for women and minoritized populations in all NYC hospitals. 
- forced change within Mount Sinai Health System, including increased anti-discrimination efforts within the institution. 
- partnered with national organizations to support survivors of discrimination across the country, and to create systemic change.
- supported hundreds of healthcare employees and trainees to speak up and seek justice in their own work situations.

We are glad that our actions have led to a movement.  And we are determined to see further positive changes made at Mount Sinai and throughout healthcare. Our colleagues, trainees and patients are depending on us to win this fight.
