Support Dexter's Journey to Cardiac Health

Hi I'm Dexters mom and he was diagnosed with dcm dilated cardiomyopathy . Since he has been diagnosed his original owner my father has passed away.My father was a 100% service connected disabled Vietnam veteran and was a bronze star recipient. Dexter never went through training but he was a therapy dog to my father and now has become my best friend and my emotional support baby since loosing our dad. We are trying to get him into Texas A&M University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital cardiology. I believe Dexter will be able to receive the best care there. We just want to know exactly what is going on with Dexters heart and what our best course of treatment would be. We just want what every pet parent wants for their babies and that's what is best for our baby. I know heart disease is hard to treat especially in boxers but I also know Texas A&M has done extensive research on dcm. So here we are asking you to please share our story and if you are able to give towards his vet bill we will be forever grateful. I talked to admissions the other day and was told when cardiology receives Dexters records they will call me with an estimate and we have to have half of it to put towards the total for them to start treating him. We are 4 hours away from, A&M but when we leave we will be leaving on a wing and a lot of prayers.
