Support Daniel Himanga’s Recovery
Donation protected
Our family is facing an incredibly difficult time after my dad, Daniel Himanga, was at work cutting down or trimming a tree. He was up on a ladder, approximately 20-30 feet high, when he slipped and landed on his left side. He has a broken collar bone, broken scapula, broken ribs which caused a small hemothorax, but the majority of the problem is he hit his head and fractured his skull. The neurosurgeon removed the left side of his skull bone and now there is only skin protecting his brain. There are a lot of fractures within the brain. He does move his extremities with painful stimuli or annoyance, but does not move on command. There are more issues that arise daily and create some very stressful situations. Daniel is the heart of our family—always busy, always helping others with any project, and always ready to lend a hand. He loves riding his Harley, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and making every moment an adventure, whether it’s eating ice cream, ocean swimming, or crab catching. Daniel didn’t have to be our dad; he chose to be, and that says everything about his character. He’s the kind of person who can strike up a conversation with anyone, and everyone who meets him loves him, even strangers.
Right now, my mom is by Daniel’s side every moment, unable to work and facing the stress of travel and lodging expenses just to be with him. Daniel’s five children are also incurring travel costs to support our family during this uncertain time. The financial burden is overwhelming, with medical bills, ongoing care, and the hope for rehabilitation ahead. We don’t know how long Daniel’s recovery will take, but we do know that every bit of support will help us focus on what matters most—being there for him and each other.
From our family to yours, we deeply appreciate any help possible. Please keep Daniel in your prayers and well wishes. Even if you can’t help financially, just pray—God listens, and we need a miracle. Your support means the world to us as we navigate this challenging journey.
