Support Cory's Family

Donation protected
Cory Barker (brother of Pennie Saum) was in a fatal motorcycle accident on 9/6/2022. His biggest dream of becoming a father came true on 7/15/2022. Oakley Lane was born and was the love of his life. He adored Oakely and longed for her to have the best life that she could possibly have. She has family surrounding her with love and care, just as Cory would want.

Cory’s family and everyone who knew Cory are beyond devastated.

Cory Barker’s life wasn’t easy. He had a childhood that no one should ever have to endure. Through it all, he embraced life and loved deeply. He overcame so much adversity and challenges to become the caring, kind, and loving man that he was. Cory loved motorcycles, working on them, riding them, and teaching others. The freedom of riding on a bike represented the freedom he longed for in his life. We would joke that Cory had 99 lives, surviving so much in his life and then continuing to move forward.

Cory was a passionate person who wanted everyone to live their lives to the fullest, love each other, and understand one another. He didn’t care where you came from, what you had, or your status, he would stop and look you in the eyes and love you right where you were. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone and always could be called on for support and help.

Cory passed away doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle, that he put together himself. Now he is with his mother, whom he cherished and adored.

We set up this site to support Cory’s surviving and supporting family members as they navigate this tragic transition. Funds will be applied towards funeral services, unexpected expenses related to funeral, follow-up, and final needs, and most importantly, ongoing and long-term care for Cory’s beloved daughter, Oakley Lane. Your support is deeply appreciated – whether financial, through direct services to the family, or through advocacy for the issues that mattered to Cory most.

“Live, Life, Love” As Cory would say. Stop and look someone in the eyes – see them, hear them, love them.
