Support Corrie and Zay Zay

Donation protected
On Saturday June 15th, Xavier Peoples (Zay Zay) and his mother, Corrie Dixie, were traveling along Hamilton Ave when another driver lost control, crossed the double yellow line and hit Corrie and Zay head-on. A pedestrian who was nearby the accident pulled Zay out of his seat belt from the car to perform CPR until the ambulance arrived, meanwhile Corrie was still trapped in the car. Zay was immediately rushed to Children’s Hospital and Corrie was rushed to UC Hospital. Today following numerous surgeries to repair shattered and broken bones throughout her body, Corrie continues to recover. She is expected to be in a wheelchair for several months. Xavier remains in critical condition at Children’s hospital. He is on a ventilator and is suffering from severe brain injuries. Both have a long recovery road ahead.

Corrie is an amazing, dedicated mother who is working and going to school full time. Her son is the light of her life, and she works tirelessly to make sure he has the best in life. The two just recently moved into a house Corrie worked hard to save up for. She is currently enrolled in the University of Cincinnati to receive her MBA in Business.

Xavier is a straight-A student at Fairview-Clifton German Language School. Corrie camped outside of the school for a week straight to ensure that he got in and was going to one of the best schools in Cincinnati. Xavier keeps us laughing constantly. He fills a room with love, and lights up the day with his sweet smile. Even at his young age, he is the first to lend a helping hand. Xavier loves sports and video games. A ball of energy and adventure, you can always find him outside playing with his friends and family. Just days before the accident, Xavier asked his grandmother and mother if he could be baptized.

We are trying to raise at least $10,000 to help cover some of the costs of the hospital bills. We also want to help support them during the next few months as Corrie is not able to work. Fortunately, both Xavier and Corrie have a very strong support system and we know that they are going to get through this, one day at a time. Please find it in your hearts to donate - any little bit helps. Thank you so much!
