Support Clube Sao Nicolau
De corona pandemie heeft ons allemaal geraakt. Zo ook Club São Nicolau. We draaien er niet omheen; de club heeft de afgelopen maanden een schuld opgebouwd van bijna €17.000,-. Deze moet uiterlijk vrijdag 6 augustus 2021 afgelost worden. Lukt dat niet, dan raken we onze laatste Kaapverdische verenigingsgebouw kwijt!
Club São Nicolau werd in 1979 opgericht. In de jaren ‘80waren meerdere van deze Kaapverdische verenigingen actief. Bijna ieder eiland had zo zijn eigen ‘’buurthuis’’. De clubs werden gebruikt voor het organiseren van verschillende activiteiten voor Kaapverdianen. Langzamerhand verdwenen de verenigingen door verschillende redenen. Club São Nicolau wist zich als enige staande te houden en wordt sindsdien bezocht door zowel Rotterdammers met als zonder een Kaapverdische achtergrond.
De afgelopen jaren is Club São Nicolau minder actief dan gewend. Terwijl de club genoeg ruimte en mogelijkheden heeft om een belangrijke rol te spelen in onze gemeenschap. Behalve dat de club een stuk geschiedenis en erfgoed is voor de Kaapverdische gemeenschap in Rotterdam, heeft het behouden van de club meerdere voordelen:
1. De perfecte locatie
De club bevindt zich aan de Admiraal de Ruyterweg 44A, 3031 AD in Rotterdam. De perfecte locatie op 15 minuten loopafstand van het Rotterdam Centraal Station en op 10 minuten lopen van de Meent en Station Blaak. Deze locaties kun je vandaag de dag niet meer veroorloven als vereniging.
2. Ruimtes
We zoeken allemaal wel eens een locatie voor feestelijke activiteiten, zoals verjaardagen en babyshowers en minder feestelijke activiteiten, zoals een condoleance. Daarnaast zijn we een gemeenschap met lef en sterk ondernemersbloed. Daar horen vergaderruimtes, flexwerkplekken en misschien zelfs pop-up kantoren bij! Club São Nicolau beschikt over 3 ruimtes die zo ingericht kunnen worden dat onze gemeenschap er gebruik van kan maken.
3. Saamhorigheid
Het behouden van de club geeft de mogelijkheid om ons weer samen te brengen. Wie herinnert zich de activiteiten waar we vroeger elkaar ontmoetten niet? En de nostalgie die het met zich meebrengt? Met het behouden van Club São Nicolau kunnen weer activiteiten georganiseerd worden voor jong en oud, vrienden en families, wel of niet met een Kaapverdische achtergrond, zodat iedereen kennis kan blijven maken met onze inmiddels Rotterdams-Kaapverdische cultuur.

Voor deze inzamelingsactie hebben wij een doel gesteld van € 25.000,-. Met dit geld willen wij alle schulden afbetalen, de club renoveren en een buffer opbouwen voor onvoorziene omstandigheden.
Nadat ons doel behaald is, worden vervolgstappen genomen in de vorm van:
Club São Nicolau is een vereniging, GEEN onderneming. Daardoor komt het niet in aanmerking voor corona subsidieregelingen van de overheid, zoals TONK.

A pandemia COVID19 tem tid um grande impaktu na vida de nos tud. Assim também na continuação de nós Clube São Nicolau. Na es últimos meses o clube akumúla um dívída de €17.000,00. Es divída deve ser pagad antes de 6 de agosto de 2021. Senão no ta perdé nos ultima associação Caboverdiana na Rotterdam, Olanda.
Clube São Nicolau tem uma rica história. Clube foi fundad na 1979. Na époka, várias associações Cabo-verdianas eram ativ na Rotterdam. Quaj tud ilha tinha se própriu centro de atividades. Gradualment e por vários motivu, kes associações ba ta desaparesé. Clube São Nicolau foi o úniku ki sobrevivé e então continua ta ser um clube não só pa Sãonicolauenses, mas Caboverdianos e Rotterdammers em geral.
Nos últimos anos, Clube São Nicolau tem estad menos ativo em termos de atividades. Mas gente ka deve esquece de espaço e oportunidades que nos Clube tem. Clube São Nicolau tem potencial pa desempenha um papel importante na nos comunidade. Além de ser um pedaço da história e de patrimônio da comunidade Cabo-verdiana na Rotterdam, a preservação de nos Clube ta trazé nos txeu vantagens:
Clube São Nicolau ta fca na Admiraal de Ruyterweg 44A em Rotterdam. Um local perfeita ki nos ka pode perde (+/- 15 minutos a pé da Estação Central de Rotterdam e +/-10 minutos a pé da Estação Blaak e a feira na Meent). Hoje em dia seria impossivel encontra um local pa um associação Cabo-verdiana no centro de Rotterdam.
Nos tud tem momentos na vida onde no ta procura um espaço pa atividades festivas, por exemplo aniversários ou jantares de família, e atividades menos festivas, como um local pa recebe condolências depois d’um funeral.
Também nos é um comunidade mut empreendedor e isso ta significa que nos ta sempre presizá de salas de reuniöes, locais pa trabaia flexível (flexwerk) e talvez até éscritorios temporárias. Clube São Nicolau tem trés (3) espaços que pode ser arranjad pa servi nos comunidade des forma.
Mais importante de tud, se no consigi salva Clube, el ta da nos oportunidade pa nos uni novament. Quem ka ta lembra de atividades onde nos comunidade tava encontra companher? Passeios, assadas é mais. Clube São Nicolau ta traze gente tant nostalgia. Se no salva Clube São Nicolau no ta pode volta a organiza atividades pa jovens e idosos, amigos e familiares, com ou sem origem cabo-verdiana… Tud gente é bem vindo! Clube São Nicolau pode ser um espaço no centro de Rotterdam onde tud mundo pode conhece nos cultura Caboverdiana em Holanda.

Pa es projeto de ajuda financeira no tem um objetivo de € 25.000,-. Es dinheiro ta ser usode pa paga tud dividas, renova clube e construi um fundo pa circunstancias imprevistas.

Clube São Nicolau é uma associação. Por isso nos ka é elegíveis pa subsídios do governo relacionad a COVID19, por exemplo o TONK.

The COVID pandemic has affected us all. We won’t beat around the bush; Club São Nicolau has built up a debt of €17.000,- in recent months. This debt must be repaid before August 6, 2021. If that doesn’t work out, we will lose our last Cape Verdean association building in the Netherlands.
Club São Nicolau was founded in 1979. Several Cape Verdean associations were active in the 1980s. Almost every island had its own community center. The clubs were used to organize various activities for Cape Verdeans in Rotterdam. Gradually the associations disappeared. Club São Nicolau was the only one to survive and has since been visited by both Rotterdammers with and without a Cape Verdean background.
The last couple of years Club São Nicolau has been less active than usual. But the club has enough space and opportunities to play an important role in our community. Besides being a important piece of the Cape Verdean history and heritage for the community in Rotterdam, preserving the club has several advantages:
The club is located at Admiraal de Ruyterweg 44A in Rotterdam. It is the perfect location for an association at a 15-min walk from Rotterdam Central Station and a 10-min walk from the Meent and Blaak Station. Nowadays it would be impossible to afford some space at this location.
We all have these moments in life where we are looking for a location for festive activities, such as birthdays, or less festive activities, a condolence for example. In addition, we are a community with strong entrepreneurial blood. This includes the search for meeting rooms, flexible workplaces and even pop-up offices.
Club São Nicolau has 3 spaces available that can be arranged in such a way that our community can benefit from them.
Saving the club gives us the opportunity to bring our community back together. Who doesn’t remember the Cape Verdean activities where we all used to meet? And the nostalgia it brings? By keeping Club São Nicolau on their feet, activities can again be organized for young and old, friends and families, with or without a Cape Verdean background. The club can be a place where we can display our now ‘’Rotterdam-Capeverdean’’ culture to all residents of Rotterdam.

The goal of this crowdfunding has been set on € 25.000,-. This money will be used to pay al debts, renovate the club and create a buffer for unforeseen circumstances.
After our goal has been achieved, the next steps will be taken:
Last but not least: Club São Nicolau is an association, NOT a company. As a result, we are not eligible for COVID19 subsidy arrangements from the government, such as TONK.
