More information about Communities In Schools Of Atlanta Inc (CIS of Atlanta): Communities In Schools of Atlanta’s mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We facilitate and champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help students successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. By bringing caring adults into the schools to address children’s unmet needs, we provide the link between educators and the community. We empowered nearly 28,000 students during the 2016-17 school year, and nearly 4,000 of those students received intensive individualized support. We are currently serving four districts Atlanta Public Schools, Dekalb, Clayton and Fulton County Schools. 92% of the students that we serve stay in school and are promoted or graduate from High School.
