The people with the most power have the least accountability, and children are becoming passive consumers of technology designed to keep their attention at any cost. Parents feel powerless, handed spy tools and policing software instead of real support. Some children are genuinely harmed, while companies building these products have enormous influence over the outcomes.

CLARA is a fiercely independent organization led by unpaid experts. We refuse any funding with strings attached to ensure our work remains completely uncompromised. Right now, our mission is entirely community-supported, and we need your help to fund our ultimate accountability tool: The Youth Digital Safety Scorecard. This Scorecard forces transparency by grading major apps across critical safety dimensions to show parents exactly where platforms are failing. Using a rigorous, scientific AI evaluation process, we score platforms on safeguards like crisis detection, data sharing restrictions, age verification, content protections, and more. Donations will pay for LLM credits to power the Scorecard and ensure our co-founders can dedicate their time to this mission.
