Christine’s story: Christine is a beloved community member of Hollister, a devoted mother to her two children, and a dear and supportive friend to many. She has devoted the past 36 years to the education of Hollister’s children as both a teacher and administrator in Hollister School District.
Those who know her know that she has a deep faith in God and is trusting Him in this process.
In November, 2018 Christine was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. It was treated with Chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy. Unfortunately, the cancer returned in November 2022 and she began the fight against Stage 4 metastatic cancer. It remained stable with treatment until this month.
Last week, Christine learned that the cancer has now invaded her liver. Next week, she will need to begin an aggressive chemotherapy regimen with treatments 3 times a week, for 5 hours at a time, indefinitely.
How Can We Help?
Your supportive donation will help ease the major financial burden Christine is facing.
- Christine will not be able to continue to work, and soon will need to pay for her insurance out of pocket which is about $18,000 a year. This is a very big expense, but it is vital that she maintains her insurance.
- There will be transportation costs for the lengthy trip to treatment several times a week.
- In-home medical care and equipment that she may need.
- Other expenses to support day-to-day needs and comfort.
