RAISING FUNDS FOR RESCUE DOG MIMI'S VET BILLS!
With the help of a friend, I rescued this sweet sweet girl from being chained up in an outdoor concrete block. She had been on the same chain, about 1 metre, for 8 years. She was always outside, extremely dirty with many thick dread locks, neglected all day and night, with only attention served when she was fed. Now, I have washed her by hand many times, given her haircuts, cleaned her nails, fed her delicious nutritious doggy food, given her treats and training, cuddles and long walks on the beach.
Mimi used to live here.
Pretty much in a pile of garbage but at least she had some shade...
I knew she deserved a better life and I could always tell by the look in her eyes she needed my help. It took me many years to get custody of her but now, Mimi is loved, cuddled, walked and played with all day by me.
I can tell she is incredibly happy, relaxed and feels safe. I am over the moon and feel insanely lucky to give her a good life.
Our first day together, we gave her a bath and brought her to the beach. I didn't have a proper leash yet. Now she has a harness and lead to help the fur grow back on her neck.
I am asking for support to pay for her veterinarian bills as she needs some medicine, vaccines, etc.
She walks with a limp in her left front leg and the vet told me she does experience pain and discomfort but she is able to walk, run and enjoy the outdoors. The vet has recommended some vitamins to aid bone strength and elevate pain... to start these are 75 euros. I was told by the previous owners that she broke her leg at a few months old and it grew back with a curve in it. The vet has confirmed that her leg grew from deficiencies during bone development.
From the vet, I will provide her with X-Rays/Radiograph and Ultrasounds. She will be registered and micro-chipped as per Portuguese law and for her safety. She will be given oral tablets and a collar for Fleas, Ticks and Worms. She will have a rabies shot, mouth cleaning and teeth check up. In addition, I believe I will fix her so she does not have babies, as she is already 8 years old.
After a haircut and some washing she lies on a soft towel. Big brown eyes!
I have already sent her in for one appointment with a grand total of 315 euros. She will need two or three more visits.
