Support Brittany Brown's Fight Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Brittany Bellsnyder. I started this GoFundMe for a family that is dearest to my heart. Brittany is the wife of her high school sweetheart, Stephen Brown, and the loving mother of her son, Karsyn Brown (9). In February of 2022, Brittany went to the ER thinking she had another kidney stone and came to find out it was much worse than that. They found a very large mass and felt uneasy about it, so she was referred to UAB. She met with some of the best doctors, and her first surgery was in March of 2022 to remove the adrenal gland and the mass. The doctors were unsure what exactly the mass was attached to or if it was cancerous, so the surgery was essentially exploratory. Once inside, the doctors found that the 5-inch mass had attached itself to her kidney along with tissue from her back. Her right kidney and the affected area had to be removed with the tumor. Pathology confirmed that the mass was indeed cancerous. Brittany was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 Metastatic Adrenocortical Carcinoma, which is a very rare form of cancer in the adrenal glands. Even with all treatments and radiation, the cancer continues to spread and grow rapidly and has now made its way to her lungs and liver.

Brittany has been doing immunotherapy for a little over a year now, and it has done little to none to slow the spread of the cancer. As of October 10th, 2024, Brittany’s team of doctors has decided to do another round of immunotherapy (Keytruda & Lenvima) along with another aggressive round of chemotherapy to slow the spread. There are no guarantees this will work, but she is willing to try anything to prolong her time with her family.

This family is truly one of the best families to know. They will go above and beyond for anyone and expect nothing in return. Their beautiful little boy Karsyn (9) is a true momma's boy through and through. To know this child is to love him. He is one of the sweetest, kindest, and most compassionate blessings from God. Karsyn is a very intelligent and intuitive little boy. He doesn’t completely understand everything that is going on or the life expectancy his mother has, but he does know that his mommy is very sick. Karsyn is very reluctant to leave Brittany’s side.

Stephen and Brittany are not the type to ask for anything. The countless surgeries, radiation treatments, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, emergency room trips, emergency services, endless hospital stays, and medical bills that continue to flood in have put a great deal of stress and financial hardship on her family. Brittany is not able to work or help contribute financially to her household, as this would be detrimental to her health. Brittany is fighting for her life every day and could use any support they could. Many have asked how they can help or contribute. All proceeds will go directly to the family.
