Support Blazing Star's move to Downtown Decorah

Hannah Garry and Sarah Cousins dreamed up Blazing Star suppers in 2019 as a way to serve vegetarian meals that highlighted the ingredients grown & produced by the many small farms of the Driftless region. As dinner parties and community meals were put on the backburner due to the pandemic, we shifted to a pop-up model, serving veggie-inspired rice bowls and salads for take-away. After a long winter of planning and dreaming, we are emerging with the spring wildflowers with some exciting news: Blazing Star will have a downtown Decorah location in 2022!

You’ll be able to find us in the old Ruby’s location at 120 East Water Street starting this spring. We’re excited to be open 4-5 days a week with a larger menu of bowls, salads, homemade baked goods, and weekly veggie inspired specials made with great ingredients from our local farm vendors like Humble Hands Harvest, Hollyhock Land & Livestock, Reconnected Farms (mushrooms!), River Root Farm, Patchwork Green Farm, and many others.

We’re working on getting our new space ready for business, including upgrading equipment, paying licensing fees, and creating a warm and welcoming dining space before our opening day. We would be super grateful if you could support us through this big next step!

BUYING A 10-BOWL PACK

If you love our bowls, why not plan ahead? We’ll be selling a limited quantity of 10 Bowl Cards that will be redeemable at our downtown location for $135. Each card will get you 10 x Blazing Bowl + 1 protein topping ($150 value). Decorah area residents only. You will get a physical card that you can pick up with your first bowl when our location opens (not redeemable for any of our pre-opening pop-ups). Buy your punch card here
