Bhakti Devi Farm, established in August of 2020 in Alachua, Florida, was 15 years in the making. After we married in 2005, we began to dream about the type of life that we wanted for our children. It was clear that we wanted to foster a spiritual environment where we could practice “simple living and high thinking.” Naturally, owning land was of the essence; so was caring for a few animals.
Below is the transcript of a video describing our current status and our goals for the next six months.
Krishna: Hello friends of Bhakti Devi Farm!
Rohini: Would you like to support our animal sanctuary and make an impact on the lives of the children and adults that visit our farm every day?
Vrinda: Different people come to our farm for emotional support and spiritual upliftment, and we want to continue offering these services.
Arjuna: Did you know that during the first six months after acquiring this land, we have invested about $50,000 from personal funds for clearing land, procuring, and feeding over 50 animals...
Haridas: and building fences and shelters for them!
Mom: We invite you to join our matching funds campaign to help us reach our goals for the next 6 months.
Krishna: These include:
1. Arjuna: Converting a barn into a classroom/Library/Art Studio ($20,000)
2. Rohini: Building another shelter for the cows as we prepare to begin milking them ($2,500)
3. Vrinda: Finishing clearing land and creating pastures for the cows ($25,000)
4. Haridas: and purchasing 200 fruit trees ($2,500)
