Hello, my name is Kim Fazio. I am a close family friend of Tara Arthur-Jurgovan and her two amazing little grandkids. With permission from the Jurgovan family, I want to share some information on why this fund was created.

On May 10, 2025, the night before Mother's Day, in a devastating motorcycle accident, Aurora (7) and Freya (5) tragically lost their mom. As you can imagine, learning this heartbreaking news on Mother's Day and the thought that these two little girls will never celebrate with their mother again is overwhelming. This devastating loss of their mother has forever changed their young lives and all those who loved her.

Aurora and Freya are being cared for by their incredible grandmothers, Tara Arthur-Jurgovan and Marcy Alaniz, who will play a huge role in these girls' lives as they try to make sense of life without their mom.

Their father, who serves in the U.S. Navy as an EOD tech, is doing everything he can to be there for his daughters. He is currently stationed at a remote location and is in the process of getting stationed to Great Lakes. This will enable him to take care of the girls as a single parent along with the support of both families. As you can imagine, this transition is complicated, emotional, and costly.

I am hoping with this fund set up and with donations from friends and family, we can help with Aurora's and Freya's day-to-day needs and whatever emotional and counseling support they will need as they transition and adjust to this new and very different future.

The Jurgovan and Alaniz families have expressed their extreme gratitude for the outpouring of love and support through phone calls and text messages that they have received. They are truly grateful for the prayers sent their way and especially to Aurora and Freya.
