On Monday, May 18th, Anoai was on his way to work and was in a terrible accident on the Pali. He was cut from his vehicle, shown below, and was in Intensive Care at Maui Memorial with serious injuries for over a week. Anoai is currently at Hale Makua, where he will be doing in-patient rehabilitation for the next 3 weeks. After he is able to return home, he will continue to need out-patient rehabilitation for a while.
Anoai has been part of the Puamana team for decades and is loved by many. He is a good hearted, hard working man who would do anything to help anyone out. His family is by his side (as much as possible with the COVID19 restrictions at the recovery facilities). They send their sincere mahalo and aloha to everyone helping Anoai through their thoughts, prayers, and support.
Puamana Ohana can help with the upcoming unforeseen expenses, including medical expenses, lost wages during his recovery, vehicle replacement, home care during recovery, etc. It is still early to know what exactly will be needed, but we can at least make a contribution to help.
This Go Fund Me will be directly deposited to his bank account where the Power of Attorney he selected will have access to use the funds towards his expenses. The Power of Attorney is Anoai's choice of who he trusts to handle his affairs.
The family asks that we not share this to public social media and we ask you to respect their wishes. However, if you know someone who you know Anoai knows well who does not live in Puamana, you may send it to them via email.
