Support Angie and Cam Powell's Healing Journey

Dear Family, Friends and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

We are reaching out to you today to share about a horrible accident that has drastically changed the lives of our dear friends, Angie and Cam, and their beloved children, Kamryn (8) and Ryder (3). As you may know, Angie works as a Client Service Specialist at Capital Planning Advisors and is Michael's outstanding primary support person, in addition to providing outstanding service to her co-workers and firm clients as well.

On May 18th, Angie and Cam were involved in a serious near-death motorcycle accident where they were hit by an SUV that ran a red light at ~55 mph that left them with multiple body fractures, Angie a TBI (concussion) and other injuries that will require many months of rehabilitation. Angie suffered a mid-shaft femur break, fibula break, tibial break, broken hand, fracture in her foot, three spinal fractures and a concussion from the impact of the collision and flying ~30 feet through the air and landing on the asphalt after impact. Angie also needed a blood transfusion from losing a liter of blood.

Cam’s injuries were sustained from the impact and upon flying ~50 feet through the air, landing on another vehicle. He broke his femur, pelvis, shattered his hip, broke two vertebrae and cracked six ribs. Both have been in excruciating pain, having difficulty standing, walking or doing other simple daily functions, and are unable to care for themselves or their children.

After two surgeries and 10 days in the hospital, Angie was transferred to UC Davis for two weeks of rehabilitation, physical therapy and speech therapy for her TBI. She was released on June 6th and is now under the care of her grandmother and parents, requiring 24/7 care, as she continues to heal and will have in home physical therapy three days a week. After two surgeries and a week in the hospital, Cam was released and is staying with his grandmother, who is tending to his needs, along with support from his parents, while also going through physical home therapy for at least the next 6 weeks.

Kamryn and Ryder are being taken care of by their loving grandparents and other family members, splitting time among their grandparents’ different homes. As you can imagine, this entire experience has been very traumatic for the kids to see their parents so injured and unable to spend the quality time they were used to, and not being able to be in their own home as well.

The road to recovery is going to be long and challenging, but we are all believing that through the prayers, love and support from family and friends, they will ultimately make it through this difficult time and be restored to full health. Angie and Cam are unable to work, which will likely be the case for the next couple of months, although it is difficult to project what the timeframes are at this point.

This leaves them in a precarious position as the bills associated with the accident continue to mount, and they also have the ongoing monthly expenses of a mortgage, car payments, insurance, utilities, day care/school expenses for both children, with no income currently coming in. Disability has been applied for and will pay a portion of their respective wages, but not nearly enough to cover current and ongoing expenses.

It is an absolutely miracle that Angie and Cam survived this accident as the police officers on the scene and doctors and nurses who treated them in the hospital were able to attest (see photos of the accident below). Angie and Cam are grateful for the prayers, love and incredible support that have been poured out for them and their beloved children. They recognize God’s intervention in sparing their lives, and are grateful that their injuries were not more severe (brain and spinal cord issues are common in such accidents, but thankfully outside of Angie’s concussion, they avoided these more significant injuries).

**How You Can Help**

Any donations to assist Angie, Cam and their children would mean the world to them and 100% of the donations will go directly toward:

- Hospital and medical bills
- Rehabilitation costs
- Monthly mortgage & ongoing living expenses as described above
- Daycare/school expenses for Kamryn and Ryder

Angie and Cam would humbly appreciate any support you can provide, whether it is through a donation, sharing this campaign with your families and friends and/or praying for their healing and for their family to make it through this difficult season. Your kindness and generosity will go a long way in helping to take some of the pressure off of their new reality, heal physically and emotionally, and get back on their feet as soon as possible.

**Thank You**

From the bottom of our hearts and from Angie and Cam, thank you for taking the time to read their story and for considering helping them during this difficult time. Your support will not only assist them financially, but will also uplift their spirits as they navigate this recovery process.

With Gratitude,
